Baidu Makes ERNIE Bot Free, Launches New AI Models ERNIE 4.5 and ERNIE X1

Baidu has launched two new AI models, ERNIE 4.5 and ERNIE X1, and made ERNIE Bot free ahead of schedule. These models bring advanced reasoning and multimodal capabilities at lower costs.

ERNIE X1 is a deep-thinking AI that competes with DeepSeek R1 but costs half as much. ERNIE 4.5, Baidu’s latest multimodal AI, handles text, images, audio, and video at a price as low as RMB 0.004 per thousand tokens.

Baidu is integrating ERNIE 4.5 and ERNIE X1 into Baidu Search, Wenxiaoyan app, and other services, making AI more accessible to users. Enterprise users can access ERNIE 4.5’s API via Baidu AI Cloud's Qianfan platform, with ERNIE X1 coming soon.
