Exciting New Gemini App Features Are Now Available for Free

Advanced AI capabilities, including Flash Thinking 2.0, Deep Research, and Gems, have been introduced to enhance personalization and productivity.

Smarter AI Features Have Been Added to the Gemini App

New and upgraded AI features have been introduced in the Gemini app, allowing users to experience Flash Thinking 2.0, Deep Research, Gems, and app connections at no cost.

Flash Thinking 2.0 Has Been Improved for Better Performance

The Flash Thinking 2.0 model has been updated to process information more efficiently. File uploads are now supported, and Gemini Advanced users have been given access to a 1M token context window, allowing larger datasets to be analyzed and more complex problems to be solved.

Deep Research Has Been Enhanced and Made Available to All Users

Since December, Deep Research has been used as an AI assistant to gather and summarize web data. Now, with Flash Thinking 2.0, reports have been made more detailed and insightful. The reasoning process is now displayed in real time, offering transparency in how research is conducted.

Starting today, Deep Research is being rolled out in 45+ languages. A few free trials are available each month, with expanded access granted to Gemini Advanced users.

A More Personalized AI Experience Has Been Introduced

Personalization has been introduced, allowing Gemini to tailor responses based on Google apps usage. When enabled, previous searches are referenced to provide customized recommendations, such as restaurant suggestions or travel advice. Control over Search history remains with users, and the feature can be disabled anytime.

Gemini Has Been Integrated with More Google Apps

The ability to connect with Google Calendar, Notes, Tasks, and Photos has been added, making Gemini even more useful. Complex requests involving multiple apps can now be processed in a single prompt. For example:

"An easy cookie recipe should be found on YouTube, ingredients should be added to the shopping list, and nearby grocery stores should be located."

Additionally, Google Photos integration is set to launch soon, allowing images to be analysed for trip planning or reminders, such as license expiration dates.

Gems Have Been Made Available to Everyone

The Gems feature has been introduced for all users, enabling the creation of custom AI assistants for specific tasks. Premade Gems can be explored, or new ones can be created for tasks such as translation, meal planning, or math coaching. Files can also be uploaded for additional customization.

These Features Can Be Tried Today!

Continuous improvements are being made to Gemini, ensuring that it becomes more powerful and personalized. These features can now be explored at gemini.google.com.
